The Social Wardrobe was started by a mum of two daughters after a search for the perfect dress to wear to their school ball. We wanted to create a rental boutique that made the customer feel special, as this is a precious time in our young womens lives. Our private studio provides a beautiful space to ensure a special try on experience.

At the Social Wardrobe we have purposefully selected different dresses for our stock rather than five of the same dress in multiple sizes, like some rental boutiques. We want you to arrive at your social ocassions in an individual dress, not the same dress as everyone else.

We do not rent out items from our own wardrobe, as some dress hire companies do. All of our stock has been specially selected to suit the modern young woman with mostly New Zealand and Australian designers showcased. So whether you’re looking to hire a Shona Joy classic dress or Hire Nookie’s stunning Vera Velvet LBD, you’ll find your perfect fit with us.
