Refund policy

Please note our cancellation policy was updated on 9th of March any bookings before this date will be provided with a credit note for the full value valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation provided a minimum of 7 days notice is provided. 


  • Standard Cancellation - if the booking is cancelled a minimum of one week before the rental date, the customer will receive a refund of the value of the rental less a cancellation fee of $50. 
  • Late Cancellation - if the booking is cancelled less than one week before rental date (eg. if start date is Thursday and cancellation is the Thursday before or closer) the customer will receive a refund of the value of the rental less the last minute cancellation fee of $75 fee and the remainder will be refunded to the customer. 
  • Change of dates. No cost to change to a different date in the same calendar year. Must advise change of date at least 1 week prior to the rental date, otherwise a last minute change fee of $25 will apply. 
  • Change of dress. No charge to change to a different dress of same value as long as it is available. Must advise change of date at least 3 days prior to the rental date, otherwise a last minute change fee of $25 will apply. 
  • Any additional difference in value from one dress to the other may require an additional payment or a credit note will be provided for a change to a dress of a lesser value. The credit note will be valid for up to 12 months and is not transferable. 
  • Postal Rentals: the above apply, however no refunds are made for items that have already been dispatched. 
  • The Social Wardrobe reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice. This is extremely rare however may occur if a previous customer damages an item or fails to return the item on the specified date. In these instances, we will communicate with you as soon as the issue arises. In the event of a cancellation by us we will provide you with either a full refund, store credit or the option to change to another item of your choice subject to availability.
